Policy session: Space industry: current challenges and path forward
ESA is preparing for CM25 and deciding on its Strategy until 2040 having an ambition to focus on growth and competitiveness. New European Commission just started its work, EU will invest 14 bln Euro with its Space Program 2021-2027. On the other hand, European industry sales and employment stalled, especially in new space companies.
The main goal of the discussion is to highlight current challenges that ESA, EU, industry and academia is facing and to discuss the path forward for Europe to live up to its ambition to play an active role in international space arena.
