About me
Fernando has more than 20 years of experience control, estimation and modeling of engineering systems in industrial environments. He received the Aeronautical Engineer degree from La Plata University (Argentina), and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University. His research experience includes model predictive and robust controls, real time optimization, estimation, and physical cybersecurity.
As a Senior Principal Engineer in GE Research, Fernando oversees the development of models, estimation and control algorithms for wind turbines and leads the advanced control area for off-shore wind turbines. He has been PI for several government programs including Radar-based wake control for wind farms and cyber-physical resiliency for wind power generation.
