Vahid Walker

Vahid is co-founder and Technical Director of Walker Subsea Engineering. Prior to setting up the company, he worked as an engineer to design and build some of the world’s largest subsea vehicles. His career spanned across engineering design and offshore construction operations, from sea-bed technology to shore.

Since founding the company in 2011, he has helped to establish it as a leading provider of engineering services in the field of offshore construction. The service provision has spanned operations in UK, US, West Africa and Middle East, and covers all part of the offshore energy site lifecycle.

He is passionate about innovation and has secured significant R&D funding & IP rights for the company to develop subsea technology.

• This includes the 2022 launch of A-Flux: the world's first subsea axial flux electrical machine, part funded by an Innovate UK Smart Grant

• This includes the 2025 launch of D-Sea: the world's first subsea immersion cooled battery pack with solid-sate electronic fuse.

Vahid is a Fellow of IMarEST and SUT, and Chair of SUT North of England branch. As member of the Tyne Task Force he helps to position the North East of England as a powerful force in the future offshore energy sector.
