As Director of the Belgian Green Building Council, I'm dedicated to accelerate the transition towards a resilient and future-proof Belgian real estate sector.
The Belgian Green Building Council (BGBC) is a newly established non-profit organization driven by a growing coalition of visionary stakeholders from across the real estate and construction sector. Our mission is to accelerate the transition toward a climate-neutral built environment in Belgium, in line with national and European climate goals. Inspired by internationally recognized Green Building Councils, the BGBC brings together real estate developers, financial institutions, public authorities, architects, engineers, and solution providers. We aim to build a common language and a shared framework for ESG and sustainability practices tailored to the Belgian context. Our activities focus on guidance, education, collaboration, and advocacy. Through thematic working groups, knowledge sharing, and strong partnerships, we create clear and actionable pathways to net-zero buildings. We connect professionals across all regions of Belgium and collaborate with public stakeholders to help shape practical and effective regulation. By fostering innovation, harmonizing efforts, and strengthening networks, the BGBC positions itself as the trusted reference platform for sustainable transformation in the built environment. Our ambition is to lead by example and empower every actor in the value chain to make measurable impact—together.
