ComPower AS is a Norwegian specialist in UPS systems and power electronics for ships, rigs, offshore installations and naval defence. Since 1994, we have developed, produced, tested, installed and serviced critical power systems for customers with strict requirements for uptime, safety, documentation and long-term reliability. Our core expertise is modular power system design. We build solutions that are easy to maintain, quick to service, prepared for upgrades and tailored to each customer’s needs. This approach helps reduce downtime, simplify lifecycle support and ensure reliable performance in harsh maritime and offshore environments.
More than 30 years of defence and offshore experience ComPower has supplied naval defence customers in Norway and abroad for more than 30 years. Our systems support critical onboard applications such as lighting, communication, navigation, weapon systems and propulsion-related systems. We also have extensive offshore experience, including UPS deliveries to more than 90% of the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Key systems and solutions

AC UPS systems: Modular UPS systems designed, produced, tested, installed and serviced by ComPower, with standard input voltages from 110 VAC to 690 VAC and output power from 750 W to 3.4 MW.

Helicopter starters: Systems for maritime and defence applications, with standard input voltages from 230 VAC to 690 VAC and output of 3 x 115/200 VAC, 400 Hz, 30 to 180 kVA.

Frequency converters: Stable power conversion with 115 VAC, 230 VAC and 400 VAC input/output, 50 Hz, 60 Hz and 400 Hz output, and ratings up to 90 kVA at 400 Hz or 400 kVA at 50/60 Hz.

Battery chargers and rectifiers: Module-based systems designed for high reliability, easy module exchange and fast battery recharging.
Quality, safety and documentation
ComPower works systematically with quality, safety, uptime and documentation. We are certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Our solutions can include cyber security, HSE, EMC and SIL requirements according to IEC 61508, and we also supply EX design equipment.

ComPower satisfies relevant defence, maritime, offshore, electrical, classification and cyber security requirements, including: MIL-STD, STANAG, IEC, DNV, Lloyd’s, BV, ABS, ITU, CEN, CENELEC, ETSI, NSF, NEK, cyber security requirements, SIL requirements according to IEC 61508, HSE requirements and EMC requirements.
