CTO for early-stage Foodwaste Start-up (30k€ in funding)
Founder & CEO
Leegebruch, Germany
About
Every day, canteens, universities, companies and institutions throw away good meals — while many people struggle with rising food prices and limited access to affordable food.
Foodbegood.app is changing that.
We are building a digital infrastructure that helps canteens redistribute surplus meals after service instead of wasting them. Our solution combines a mobile app, a canteen-facing workflow and impact reporting, so food providers can reduce waste, support their communities and measure their environmental impact.
Our vision is simple: good food should not become waste just because the lunch break is over.
We are now looking for a technical co-founder or CTO who wants to help turn Food Be Good from an early-stage start-up into a scalable European food-tech and impact platform.
What makes this opportunity attractive:
-
Around €30,000 in equity-free funding and start-up support already secured
-
Live mobile app for iOS and Android
-
Existing pilot and partnership discussions with canteens, universities and institutions
-
Clear social and environmental impact: less food waste, more affordable access to meals
-
Strong positioning in food-tech, circular economy, ESG and communal catering
-
Opportunity to join early and shape the product, architecture and technical strategy from the ground up
Food Be Good is not just another food waste awareness project. We are building the operational layer that makes surplus meal redistribution easy, measurable and scalable for institutional food providers.
As CTO or technical co-founder, you would take ownership of the technical side of the company. This includes improving and scaling the existing app, building reliable backend and data systems, supporting automation of canteen workflows, and helping us turn pilot learnings into a strong product.
You would work closely with the founding team on questions such as:
-
How can we make surplus food redistribution as simple as possible for canteens?
-
How can we collect reliable data on meals saved, waste avoided and CO₂ impact?
-
How can we build a product that works first in Germany and later across Europe?
-
How can technology make circular food systems easier to implement in everyday operations?
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and excited by early-stage building. You should enjoy creating structure, solving practical problems and turning an ambitious mission into a working product.
Relevant experience could include:
-
Mobile app development
-
Backend development
-
APIs and databases
-
Cloud infrastructure
-
Product engineering
-
Automation and internal tools
-
Data analytics, artificial intelligence or computer vision
-
ESG, impact reporting or food-tech infrastructure
You do not need to cover every area alone. What matters most is ownership, technical judgment and the willingness to build something real.
This is an early-stage co-founder opportunity. At this stage, we are especially looking for someone interested in equity-based participation, with possible project-based compensation depending on grants, funding and future financing. The exact structure can be discussed based on commitment, experience and responsibility.
If you want to use technology to reduce food waste, improve access to food and build a scalable impact company from an early stage, we would be happy to connect.
