FYTOLASER s.r.o.
About
FYTOLASER is a Czech AgTech company developing and delivering non-chemical laser seed stimulation for agricultural crops. We combine agronomic expertise, optical engineering and applied research to help farmers improve crop establishment, productivity and resource efficiency.
OUR TECHNOLOGY
Our technology uses low-power lasers to treat seeds before sowing. It is a physical treatment that does not add chemical substances to the seed. We investigate and optimise treatment parameters for different crops, with a focus on germination, early plant development, crop uniformity, yield and production quality.
Our work covers crops including barley, wheat, oilseed rape, sugar beet, maize, soybean, sunflower and poppy. We also explore applications in vegetable production.
RESEARCH AND VALIDATION
We evaluate the technology under laboratory, small-plot, pilot and commercial farming conditions. This approach allows us to connect controlled research with the practical needs of agricultural businesses.
Our research and trial partners include Mendel University in Brno, CATRIN at Palacký University Olomouc, PSI in Drásov, the Research Institute for Fodder Crops in Troubsko, Selgen and ZD Unčovice.
Research activities examine plant emergence, growth dynamics, biomass development, chlorophyll content, yield and crop quality. We also investigate how long the stimulation effect persists between treatment and sowing, as well as potential phytosanitary effects.
Results from selected trials have shown benefits in plant development, yield or quality. We continue to assess how these outcomes depend on the crop, treatment parameters and growing conditions.
COMMERCIAL APPLICATION AND DEVELOPMENT
FYTOLASER already provides mobile seed treatment services directly at customers’ premises in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Our practical experience helps us refine both the equipment and the treatment process.
Building on our participation in CzechInvest’s Technology Incubation programme, we are preparing the next generation of equipment for wider deployment. Our development priorities include operational safety, reliable process control, remote access and integration into seed processing lines. We also have a project focused on implementing AI in our solution.
Alongside mobile services, we are developing opportunities for equipment rental and cooperation with seed producers and agricultural technology partners.
SUSTAINABILITY
Our approach aims to support more efficient agricultural production through a low-energy physical seed treatment. We evaluate whether improvements in crop performance can reduce the environmental footprint per unit of harvested production.
We focus on measurable outcomes and evidence-based environmental claims, taking account of treatment energy, transport, cultivation inputs and yield. We see opportunities to contribute to more resource-efficient food production through cooperation across the agricultural value chain.
OUR TEAM
Our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in agronomy, optics, laser technology, business development and finance. This combination enables us to connect equipment development and scientific validation with commercial farming requirements.
COOPERATION OPPORTUNITIES
We are interested in connecting with:
• Seed producers and agricultural businesses seeking pilot trials or commercial seed treatment.
• Distribution and service partners interested in bringing the technology to new markets.
• Equipment manufacturers and engineering companies supporting integration into seed processing lines.
• Research organisations working on seed science, plant physiology, photonics and sustainable agriculture.
• Partners preparing European research and innovation projects.
• Investors interested in supporting the international growth of an AgTech company with an existing commercial service.
We offer practical experience, access to our laser seed stimulation technology and a multidisciplinary team for joint trials and development projects.
Our goal is to build long-term partnerships that turn research and technological innovation into measurable benefits for agricultural businesses.
