About

The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is an interdisciplinary academic and research unit within the Faculty of Medicine at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. It brings together clinical neuroscience, psychiatry, psychology, neuromodulation and biomedical research, connecting clinical expertise with engineering, artificial intelligence, digital health and biomedical technologies.

Our research focuses on brain health, cognitive functioning, mental disorders, dementia, neuromodulation, perinatal mental health, paediatric chronic illness, ageing, psychological assessment, patient-reported outcomes and communication in hospital care. One of our flagship initiatives is BRAVES / BRAVES-Cog, which combines multimodal cognitive assessment, neurobiomarkers, biomedical signals, artificial intelligence and non-invasive brain stimulation.

The Department has experience in international and EU-oriented research, including BRAVES-Cog, ETUDE / H2020 MSCA-ITN, JPND dementia-related projects, COST Action EDEM and the MEDWET mental health study. We design and conduct quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods research in real-world clinical settings and contribute expertise in study protocols, ethics documentation, clinical assessment, data collection and implementation research.

We are interested in building international partnerships for joint research projects, Horizon Europe proposals, multicentre studies, academic exchanges and innovative solutions in digital mental health, AI-supported clinical decision-making, neuromodulation and patient-centred hospital care.
