The Faculty of Computer Science at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (UAIC) is a nationally and internationally recognized institution, established in 1991 as the first dedicated computer science faculty in Romania. It offers high-quality undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs in computer science, with specializations in areas such as distributed systems, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science. The faculty is renowned for its strong research activity, international collaborations, and a dynamic ecosystem of partnerships with over 60 IT companies. I contribute to social transformation by promoting educational innovation, digital entrepreneurship, and gender equity, while supporting society’s adaptation to technological challenges through applied research, collaboration, and policy engagement.

IF YOU HAVE ANY POLICY EXPERIENCE, COULD YOU SHARE INFORMATION ON AREAS, METHODS, RISKS, AND FACTORS FOR SUCCESS?

I contributed to RDI policy design as an expert for UEFISCDI (2019–2020) and co-authored policy recommendations for gender equity in informatics (COST EUGAIN). Since 2025, as a board member of Informatics Europe, I am actively involved in Open Science policies and in strengthening academia–industry collaboration.
