John Moetteli

Managing attorney at Da Vinci Partners LLC, a Swiss-based, globally-oriented IP firm, John is a registered US Patent & Trademark Attorney-at-law, a Swiss Patent and Trademark Attorney, and a European Design and Trademark Attorney. He holds three degrees, a BSME from the UT Arlington, an MA Int'l Management from the UT Dallas as well as a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston (magna cum laude). He is licensed in Washington D.C., before the Court of Appeals of the Federal Circuit as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. A former JSC NASA senior design engineer and new technology coordinator, his work has been featured on the Smithsonian Institution’s Invention Series produced by the Discovery Channel. John is a WIPO patent expert and has given presentations on IP law at the invitation of WIPO, the European Patent Institute, The Swiss IP Office (e.g. IP@lunch), the European Commission, IMD, Webster University, the SwiTT Academy, Texas A&M University, the University of Neuchâtel, and the Chinese government. He's currently adjunct professor in the Intellectual Property CAS IP master's program offered by the Zurich University ZHAW. He has also spoken with WIPO delegates via video conference at the invitation the ICC's Commission on Intellectual Property on IP matters while connected with participants at the COP26.
