Matjaž Ivačič

Mr Matjaž Ivačič (male, M.Sc.) has M. Sc. degree in geodesy and geoinformatics. He has more than 30 years of experience working with different aspects and fields of GIS technology. From 1994 till 2001 he worked at the Ministry of Environment, Slovenia as advisor of the director of the National office for spatial planning and was responsible for geo-information technology. From 2001 until 2002 he was engaged as GIS Consultant in Erbil, Northern Iraq, responsible for the development of various GIS solutions in the UN agency Habitat. From 2002 till 2014 he worked as a GIS Department Manager in a company specialised in civil engineering and development of GIS software. Since 2014 he is working as a managing director and GIS expert at a private company GeoCodis Ltd., where he is leading different remote sensing and geo-information projects. He successfully managed and completed several national and international projects in water management, satellite data analyses and applications, mobile network monitoring, etc. in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Serbia, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana and Rwanda.
