About
HardPix with its miniature size (8x4x2 cm), mass (<150 g) and power consumption (~3 W) is ideal for space application onboard any mission. Thanks to Timepix technology, developed within CERN, it is capable of particle identification and energy spectroscopy. Another potential application is mapping of subsurface water deposits on the Moon and Mars using neutron spectroscopy.
