About
AM is transforming industrial production by making it possible to create highly complex and integrated components, especially with materials that are difficult to process using conventional methods.
In industries like aerospace, defense, and energy, materials must perform reliably in extreme high-temperature environments. Above ~1050 °C, niobium-based alloys outperform even the most advanced nickel- and cobalt-based systems. First explored during the Apollo program, niobium alloys are now back in focus thanks to AM. Well-known alloys such as C103 (Nb-Hf-Ti), as well as promising candidates like FS85 (Nb-Ta-W-Zr) and Cb-752 (Nb-W-Zr), are being re-evaluated for next-generation applications.
