About

Hispansion Works S.L. is a Spanish deep-tech startup founded in 2024 and incubated at the ESA Business Incubation Centre (ESA-BIC). The company specializes in the development and production of high-fidelity lunar regolith simulants, materials engineered to replicate the chemical, mineralogical, and mechanical properties of the Moon’s surface. These simulants enable realistic testing of space technologies—such as ISRU (In-Situ Resource Utilisation), lunar mobility systems, materials engineering, and infrastructure construction.

Beyond simulant production, Hispansion is actively engaged in the development of ISRU technologies and methodologies for lunar sample collection and analysis, contributing directly to the advancement of Europe’s capabilities in resource extraction, processing, and in-situ experimentation on the Moon.

With partnerships including ETSIME-UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) and collaborations across the European exploration ecosystem, Hispansion combines advanced mineral processing, digital design tools, and precision QA to deliver both standardized and tailor-made simulants. Its goal is to strengthen Europe’s strategic autonomy in space research by offering a reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient European source for lunar materials.

Through innovation, scientific rigor, and industrial scalability, Hispansion is positioning itself as Europe’s reference supplier for lunar testing materials and ISRU development, a key enabler of sustainable human presence and technological progress on the Moon.
