Astrobrake is Gama Space’s autonomous drag sail designed to guarantee the safe and sustainable disposal of satellites at end of life. Compact, lightweight, and fully independent from the host platform, Astrobrake deploys automatically even in the event of total spacecraft failure. By significantly increasing atmospheric drag, it enables satellites to deorbit within predictable timelines, ensuring compliance with international debris mitigation requirements.

The system is fully passive, requiring no power, commands, or telemetry from the spacecraft, which makes it ideally suited for CubeSats, microsatellites, and large constellations. Astrobrake minimizes mission risk, reduces long-term orbital debris, and supports operators in meeting ESG and regulatory commitments.
