Apogeo Space

With a total of 20 satellites launched so far, Apogeo Space is developing the first private Italian picosatellite constellation for IoT telecommunications. This constellation will provide ubiquitous satellite connectivity and near-real-time data transmission, even in remote areas.

Apogeo Space also offers space manufacturing services, including the design, production, testing, and management of satellites and constellations. The company offers IoD/IoV opportunities on board its picosatellites. Grants and technology spin-offs are also part of Apogeo Space’s activities.

In 2022 the company received a 5M€ round of financing from Primo Space, the first Italian Venture Capital on the space economy business. The financing is focused on building the first private Italian satellite constellation in LEO (Low Earth Orbit), to provide affordable satellite IoT telecommunication services all over the world. Our technology, made of picosatellites weighting less than 1kg, is flight proven thanks to the successful launch of two technology demonstrators in March 2021 and January 2022. Apogeo Space launched a first batch of 9 satellites in November 2023 and a second batch in August 2024. By 2027 the constellation will be composed of 96 satellites.  

Active since 2015, Apogeo Space has contributed to the development of major projects by ESA (European Space Agency), ASI (Italian Space Agency) and NASA, often in collaboration with major research institutions including INAF (National Institute of Astrophysics), INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics), Brera Astronomical Observatory, Bologna Astronomical Observatory and Milan Polytechnic University.
