Master of Space Studies (MSS/MSc)

Consultant, New Space Initiatives at International Space University

Strasbourg, France

About

The International Space University (ISU) invites forward-thinking organisations and motivated individuals to engage with its Master of Space Studies (MSS/MSc) — a pioneering interdisciplinary graduate programme designed for the modern space domain.

Why this programme matters

  • The space sector is evolving rapidly: new business models, private-public partnerships, more global actors, and deeper links into other industries. The MSS/MSc reflects these trends.

  • Prepared for professionals from diverse backgrounds — engineering, science, business, law, humanities — who intend to work, lead or innovate in the space ecosystem.

Programme structure

  • Delivered at ISU’s Central Campus in Strasbourg, France.

  • Three semesters: the first two semesters cover a broad space-foundation across engineering, policy, science, business; the third semester includes either a Master’s thesis (for the accredited MSc) or an internship (for MSS track) so participants apply learning in real-world contexts.

  • Students also choose one of three specialisation tracks in semester 2 (e.g., Space Engineering & Applications, Space Science & Exploration, Space Policy & Entrepreneurship) — enabling depth.

  • The programme is built around ISU’s 3I’s: Interdisciplinary, International, Intercultural — meaning that cross-discipline, cross-cultural teamwork and global perspective are core.

Outcomes & organisational relevance

  • Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in space agencies, commercial space ventures, research institutes, emerging space-enabled industries and new business models.

  • For organisations (industry, government, agencies), the programme offers a pipeline of talent with cross-cutting skills: ability to navigate technology, policy/law, business strategy, team collaboration, global context.

  • Organisations may also explore collaboration: student internships, joint research/thesis topics aligned to your mission, sponsorship or recruiting partnerships.

Let’s talk about:

  • Sponsoring or recruiting MSS/MSc graduates for your workforce needs

  • Hosting internship or research thesis topics aligned with your organisational strategic goals

  • Co-developing tailored programmes with ISU (e.g., special modules / industry-partner teaching)

  • Using this master programme as part of your talent-development strategy in the New Space Economy
