TWI is a recognised leader in electron beam (EB) welding and processing, supporting the development and deployment of EB technologies across multiple industrial sectors, including space, aerospace, defence, and energy.

Active in EB research since the 1960s, TWI provides expert consultancy, process development, feasibility trials, and prototype manufacture. Our services cover component design, process selection, and quality assurance, as well as troubleshooting and technology transfer.

TWI operates a wide range of electron beam systems, from low-power 60 kV, 4 kW units for precision applications to high-power 175 kV, 100 kW machines capable of welding steel sections over 200 mm thick. Chamber volumes range from less than 1 m³ to more than 36 m³, enabling both small-scale and large-component processing.
