About

Evolunar's autonomous navigation technology enables UAVs to fly in environments where GNSS and communication signals are unreliable or unavailable. We deliver a fully self-contained system, called POLARIS, that estimates position, velocity, and attitude using only onboard sensors, thanks to proprietary sensor fusion and visual navigation algorithms (patents pending), capable of processing multi-camera input in real time. This system is offered as a plug-and-play navigation module, complete with sensors, designed to retrofit any UAV. It offers advanced features such as live 3D mapping, enabling precise spatial referencing of payload data, and autonomous waypoint generation, extending UAV operations to all kind of environments, from tunnels, to urban canyons, to industrial sites.

Evolunar's navigation system operates purely with onboard sensing, making it inherently immune to electromagnetic interference and jamming or spoofing attacks, ideal for autonomous UAV operations in GNSS-denied scenarios in defense and security. The POLARIS standalone module can upgrade existing fleets of UAVs or off-the-shelf platforms, while POLARIS software can be integrated into next-gen UAV designs.

Optimized for efficient execution on low-power embedded hardware, Evolunar's multi-camera navigation system can handle larger volumes of visual data than competing solutions, leading to unprecedented navigation accuracy with minimal drift while simultaneously generating real-time 3D maps of the environment, allowing autonomous guidance to complete missions without depending on any electromagnetic signals. This enables operations also in indoor spaces, without employing bulky and expensive LiDARs, thus minimizing weight, size and power required and allowing deployment on any UAV. The architecture implements multiple innovative safety-layers to maximize robustness both at hardware and software level and allows dynamic sensor modularity: GNSS or other sensors can be added or removed on-the-fly, based on changing mission conditions.
