About
MUSTis a feature-rich parameter archive and client ecosystem specialized in spacecraft telemetry. It is the result of more than twenty years of close collaboration with Flight Control Engineers, primarily at ESOC, who rely on it for monitoring, reporting, long-term analysis, and anomaly investigation. Over time, MUST has evolved into a comprehensive platform supporting offline data analysis, dashboards, automation, reporting, synthetic parameters, and diagnostics through tools such as DrMUST and Novelty Detection.
The archive provides high-performance access to mission-related data, including spacecraft and ground telemetry, telecommand history, events, ancillary data, and flight dynamics. It integrates with a wide range of established data sources through adapters for X- and S-band frames, SCOS-2000 Rapids and OL files, EDDS, EVTF, FD files, and other packet- or parameter-based streams.
MUST encapsulates many operational concepts, including calibration, synthetic data processing, automated checks, and predefined displays. As a distributed, web-based system, its data and services can be deployed across multiple systems, making it suitable for missions ranging from small single satellites to large constellations with hundreds of thousands of parameters.
Users interact with MUST through its API, often combining it with Python scripts or Jupyter notebooks (or via its dedicated web client, NG-WebMUST). The system has a strong active community: an estimated 300 - 400 daily users depend on MUST for mission-critical tasks.
