SpaceWire and SpaceFibre IP Cores
Chief Executive Officer at STAR-Dundee Ltd
Dundee, United Kingdom
About
Since 2002, STAR-Dundee has been licensing spacecraft on-board networking IP to the international aerospace industry.
Our SpaceWire IP is used on many hundreds of spacecraft, with interface, router and RMAP IP cores available to licence. These well-tested and widely-used IP cores have been implemented in many FPGA and ASIC technologies.
SpaceFibre is the next generation of SpaceWire, offering higher throughput (with reliable 100 Gbit/s links recently demonstrated in a radiation environment), lower mass and new capabilities including quality of service, and fault detection, isolation and recovery. STAR-Dundee’s SpaceFibre IP cores are currently being implemented in spaceflight systems by our customers and are known to be either flying or being designed into at least 60 operational spacecraft. These cores have been tested in various ASIC and FPGA technologies including Microchip RTG4 and RT PolarFire, and AMD Kintex UltraScale and Versal.
