About me
Ana Barros, MBA, PhD, started her career in industry, working in procurement and production planning of German and Portuguese companies (2000-2007) and in an outreach project at Cornell University, Ithaca, US (2002). Afterwards, she moved into research at the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal (2007-2011), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, US (2008-2011), INESC TEC , Porto, Portugal (2011-2021), and Carnegie Mellon University, CMU, US (2012, 2014/2015). She graduated five PhDs at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto in the field of Technology Management, Supply Chain Management, and Engineering and Public Policy (2016-2022), and was lecturer at the Portuguese Catholic University (2010-2012) and Porto Business School (2013-2017). Ana Barros collaborated with 50+ companies in the aeronautics, automotive, food and beverages, machinery, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, shoe, and textile industries, as well as 20+ technological start-ups and SMEs. In 2022, Ana Barros moved into consultancy and was member of the founding team of PNO in Portugal, as well as Senior Innovation Consultant providing support to companies, research organizations, associations and public bodies in the preparation and execution of European innovation projects.
Ana Barros obtained a PhD in Engineering and Management (Technical University of Lisbon, 2011) in the field of Supply Chain Management, a MBA in Logistics and Entrepreneurship (Technical University of Munich, 2004), and a M.S. and B.S. in Chemical Engineering (University of Porto, 2000).
