Present in more than 100 cities and regions, Instant System provides modular and scalable passenger information platforms, ticketing integrations and MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service) solutions to local transport authorities, operators and companies, to help meet cities’ daily mobility needs. Our mission: give every traveller a single, reliable tool to plan, book and pay for all the transport modes available in a territory, so that sustainable mobility becomes a simple and credible alternative to the private car.
Who we are
Founded in 2013 by Yann Hervouet and Xavier Lecomte and headquartered in Sophia Antipolis (France), Instant System is a mobility-tech company with more than 130 employees across R&D, product, data, mobile and web development, and sales. Our applications serve more than 20 million users every year. With over 60% market share in France, we have deployed multimodal MaaS projects in the country’s three largest cities: Paris, Lyon and Marseille. Instant System holds the French “Young Innovative Company” (JEI) status.
What we do
Our white-label platform, Stack, is built around three modules that can be deployed separately or together:
-
Passenger information: intermodal journey planner, real-time data, dynamic maps, disruption management and communication tools.
-
Ticketing: mobile tickets, e-shop and train ticket distribution.
-
MaaS: integration of shared mobility, on-demand transport and parking, with in-app booking and payment.
All applications are branded in our clients’ colours: it is the territory’s own app.
Our portfolio also includes Emy, a B2B solution for managing employee mobility credits; Lyna, our next-generation journey planner; and City & Region, declined SaaS MaaS platforms for cities/metropolitan areas, and regions.

Innovation, R&D and AI
R&D is at the core of our model. A team of around ten PhDs works full-time on our multi-criteria journey-planning algorithms, with results published in peer-reviewed venues. We have integrated more than 50 mobility provider APIs (bike and scooter sharing, car sharing, carpooling, on-demand transport, parking) and master the sector’s standards (GTFS, GTFS-RT, NETEX, SIRI, GBFS), contributing to their standardisation. Artificial intelligence et data management is a priority of our product roadmap, with R&D activities forming the foundation of our upcoming AI mobility agents.
Open innovation in our DNA
Instant System has a long track record of collaborative projects with public authorities, operators, research labs and industrial partners. We are a partner in several Horizon Europe projects:
-
SPINE: MaaS deployment in five European cities.
-
UPPER: public transport measures in the Paris region, including a MaaS solution for Paris 2024 Olympic Games visitors.
-
deployEMDS: European Mobility Data Space, where we lead the Paris-region use case.
What we bring to this challenge
We bring a technology proven at scale, fast integration with existing systems, deep knowledge of mobility users and stakeholders, and a team used to co-designing, piloting and industrialising solutions with its partners. Our ambition: accelerate the shift towards more sustainable, inclusive and intelligent mobility, in France and worldwide.
