About
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German non-profit organization founded in 1958 by Theodor Heuss. It is committed to promoting liberal values such as individual freedom, democracy, human rights, the rule of law, and the social market economy, both within Germany and around the world.
Headquartered in Potsdam, near Berlin, the Foundation operates in more than sixty countries through its international offices and partnerships. Its activities include political education, research, policy dialogue, scholarship programs for talented students, and initiatives supporting democratic institutions and civil society.
FNF works to strengthen liberal democracy by encouraging civic engagement, critical thinking, and open debate. The Foundation believes that freedom is not only a right but also a responsibility, and that an active, informed citizenry forms the foundation of a strong and just society.
