Hamlet is a civic tech platform designed to strengthen local communities through inclusive digital participation.
It is built as a multisided public infrastructure, enabling interaction among citizens, local governments, small businesses, nonprofits, and cultural actors within a shared ecosystem.

Unlike commercial platforms, Hamlet is designed like a digital piazza—a public square where people can meet, exchange, and collaborate freely. It integrates physical and digital spaces such as streets, neighborhoods, and local offices, allowing users to interact seamlessly online, offline, or in hybrid formats.

The platform supports proximity-based services, local marketplaces, and community-driven initiatives. It encourages reciprocity and altruism as core behaviors, fostering trust and inclusion across diverse user groups.

Hamlet is free from user profiling and automated bots, ensuring privacy and accessibility for all, including digitally less experienced users. It uses advanced technologies like LLMs to interpret civic needs and support participatory governance.

Currently active in Reggio Emilia and expanding to Modena and other municipalities, Hamlet supports projects in urban regeneration, youth engagement, and cultural heritage valorization. It collaborates with public institutions such as the Region of Emilia-Romagna, Confcooperative, and various local governments to co-design digital services that reflect community needs.
