About

The Tarragona Municipal Water Joint Company (Ematsa) is a commercial company  of the Tarragona City Council and the AGBAR Group that has managed the integral water cycle in Tarragona for 40 years. 

Ematsa also provides project engineering services, execution of hydraulic works, management of public roads, and laboratory services. In its 40 years of history, Ematsa has expanded its activity and has become a pioneering company in services linked to the integral water cycle in the regions of Tarragona, where it stands out as a benchmark in the management of basic environmental services.

Currently, a team of nearly 130 professionals provides its services to a population of approximately 145,000 inhabitants and continues to work to consolidate excellence in the management of the urban water cycle among its main challenges.

Ematsa's activities include the management of the integral water cycle in the municipalities of Tarragona and La Canonja, while also supplying water for human consumption in Els Pallaresos and El Catllar. On the other hand, it also manages the wastewater of Altafulla, Constantí, El Catllar, La Riera de Gaià and Els Pallaresos.
