WATER TAXI
Businessman in the naval sector at ECOMOV NAUTICAL SL
Tarragona, Spain
About
The Water Taxi Cartagena represents a radical innovation compared to traditional electric ferries. Its design incorporates a hydrodynamically optimized hydrofoil-type naval architecture, developed under the direction of PhD Manuel Ruiz de Elvira, a Spanish naval architect and designer of America's Cup-winning vessels. The hydrodynamic and energy efficiency curves obtained place the vessel among the three most efficient electric ferries in the world, with consumption between 0.77 and 1.57 kWh/nm at operating speeds of 6–8 knots, carrying 52 passengers with a power output of less than 0.25 kW per passenger.
