Biomia

Biomia is a synthetic biology company developing a pipeline of plant-inspired natural and new-to-nature halogenated small-molecule drug candidates. Biomia was founded in 2022 following the licensing of a patent-protected manufacturing platform for one of largest classes of small molecules found in plants, namely the monoterpene indole alkaloids (MIAs). Leveraging its proprietary manufacturing platform together with machine learning-guided virtual screens and large-scale bioactivity testing, Biomia is developing a drug discovery engine for novel lead candidates addressing unmet needs in central nervous system disorders.
