BC1® is an independent editorial platform and journalistic production house for sustainable innovation. Most communication about a project fades once the initial attention moves on, the website goes offline, the film disappears into a drive, and a few years later, someone else starts from zero on the same topic. BC1® exists to prevent that.

We produce journalistic documentaries that stay online for the long term: ad-free, without a paywall, and not subject to an algorithm that decides what disappears. When a topic becomes relevant again, we bring the film back into view through our platform and social channels.

What we do:

Journalistic documentaries. We document innovation across sectors including the Circular Economy, Energy Transition, Sustainable Agriculture, and the Built Environment, factual, verifiable, and with room for what doesn't work yet.

A lasting archive. Films remain publicly accessible for years after a project ends, subtitled, transcribed, and findable, including through AI systems such as ChatGPT and Gemini.

Support for CSRD reporting. For organizations reporting on sustainability under the CSRD, a film shows where the numbers come from, in a way stakeholders and the public can actually follow.

Cross-border reach. Through bc1.eu, content is now available in German, French, and Spanish, alongside English, with accessibility features including a read-aloud function and audio feedback during navigation.
