Pinot Gris 2023 - Macerated Wine - Dry
Winemaker at Vins Schaffhauser
Wettolsheim, France
About
Winemaking:
This wine, made from the “Pinot Gris” grape variety, comes from the “Hoell” locality in Osenbach, meaning “hell” in the Alsatian dialect. After careful de-stemming, the juice and berries ferment and macerate for ten days.
Tasting:
Surprisingly pink in color, with hints of orange, the nose is rich and subtle, with notes of strawberry and quince. Dry, the palate is dense and suave, with a hint of tannin.
Food and wine pairing:
This “unclassifiable” wine will surprise you with its originality. Easily digestible and dry, it goes well with summer grilled meats, pizza, tarts flambées or farm poultry.
