alangu GmbH is a software company that develops AI-based translation software to convert text into sign language. alangu was founded as a spin-out from the AVASAG research project, initiated by Charamel GmbH together with partners involved in the research project.

The close collaboration between hearing and Deaf experts creates highly specialized expertise that drives the participatory development of AI-based and social innovations. With this approach, we actively promote the development of innovative solutions and lay a strong foundation for sustainable progress.

We have made it our mission to create a digital solution that enables barrier-free communication and to close the gap between the hearing and Deaf communities through cutting-edge AI technology.
With the Municipal Sign Language Avatar Toolkit, we offer the world’s first innovative solution for translating municipal services under the Online Access Act (OZG) into German Sign Language. In addition to the municipal solution, we also support companies, organizations, and institutions that want to make their digital products and services available to Deaf people in their native language. Our team of hearing and Deaf experts works together in an inclusive and creative environment with the goal of improving digital participation for Deaf people and breaking down digital barriers. To this end, we provide solutions for the public sector, private companies, and society at large.
