Know-how is one of a company’s most valuable assets. Those who develop innovations should consider at an early stage how this knowledge can be strategically protected – from patents and trademarks to confidentiality and contractual measures.

In this practical one-hour workshop, we will speak with ADRESYS Adaptive Regelsysteme GmbH and an intellectual property expert from Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) about a possible IP strategy based on a specific company case.

Based in Salzburg, ADRESYS Adaptive Regelsysteme GmbH develops specialized safety solutions for people working on electrical systems or working alone. Its core product, a smart emergency call system, combines sensor technology with intelligent textile integration to automatically detect accidents and medical emergencies.

As ADRESYS’ solutions are built on a combination of electronics development, software, and textile engineering, the company is particularly well suited to illustrate the complexity of innovation and IP management. Not only technical patents play a role here, but also the strategic interplay of different protection mechanisms.

Together, we will demonstrate:

  • Which IP rights are appropriate at which stage of development.

  • How hardware, software, and trademark rights can be strategically combined.

  • What companies should pay attention to in practice to safeguard their technological know-how.

The workshop is aimed at innovative companies and start-ups that want to better understand and strategically protect their intellectual property.
