M-Chem FlexCo

M-Chem is a Lower Austrian start-up specializing in the production of high-purity alumina (4N and 5N HPA). This material is classified by the EU as both strategic and critical and is indispensable for manufacturing lithium-ion batteries, semiconductors, and high‑performance ceramics.

The company follows a circular-economy approach by upcycling local aluminium waste (e.g. production scrap)into high-purity alumina. The production process is based on M‑Chem’s proprietary and patented Continuous Hydro-Thermal Oxidation (CHTO) technology, which is sustainable, easily scalable, and designed to be CO2‑neutral.

With a clear focus on local production, high value creation, and a minimal CO2 footprint, M‑Chem positions itself as a leading provider of environmentally friendly, high‑purity alumina in and for Europe.
