About

GREEnMat is recognized for its strong expertise in the design and characterization of functional materials, primarily inorganic, but also metallic and hybrid. These materials are developed in the form of thin films, powders, or bulk solids, and are intended for use in high-value-added systems.

Ongoing research projects notably focus on the development of innovative materials with tailored properties for strategic application areas:

🔋 Energy
Development of advanced technologies for:
Energy production — next-generation photovoltaics, green hydrogen, transparent conductive materials,...
Energy storage — cathode, anode, and solid-state electrolyte materials for Li-, Na-, K-, and Zn-ion batteries
Energy consumption management — electrochromic smart windows
Light management — optical modulation in “transparent” oxide films for multispectral camouflage systems
• ...

🌱 Environment
Recycling of silicon-based photovoltaic cells
Battery recycling
Recovery of metallic waste to produce high-value powders for additive manufacturing
Reuse of waste streams from stereolithographic 3D printing for applications in personalized medicine
• ...

🧬 Health
• Engineering of pharmaceutical powders
• Development of materials for biomedical additive manufacturing
• Design of wearable biosensors for sweat-based diagnostics
• ...
