About
Regional Association of Solid Waste Management Agencies of Central Macedonia (FoDSA CM) is the competent public authority responsible for the reduction, treatment, recovery and final disposal of municipal waste in the Region of Central Macedonia, Greece, in accordance with the waste hierarchy and the Regional Waste Management Plan. Its institutional mandate includes the planning, coordination and implementation of integrated waste management actions, covering waste collection support, transfer, treatment, recovery and disposal services for a population of approximately 2 million citizens across 38 municipalities. Beyond its operational role, FoDSA acts as a strategic advisor to local authorities, supporting municipalities in complying with evolving waste management legislation, accessing funding opportunities, and developing infrastructure and services that advance the transition towards a circular economy. FoDSA recognises that digitalisation is a key enabler for the transition towards a circular economy, supporting more efficient resource management, improved monitoring and traceability, data-driven decision-making, and the development of more effective and sustainable circular solutions.
