CluBE (Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia) is a non-profit innovation cluster based in Western Macedonia, Greece, established through the collaboration of regional stakeholders to promote sustainable development, bioeconomy, clean energy, and environmental innovation. Since its foundation, CluBE has played a central role in supporting the region’s transition from a lignite-based economy to a green and circular economy by fostering synergies among public authorities, research institutions, industries, SMEs, and local communities. The organisation is active in areas such as bioenergy, biomass valorisation, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, circular economy, smart cities, and sustainable mobility, while also coordinating and participating in numerous European projects under Horizon Europe, LIFE, Erasmus+, and other EU programmes. CluBE combines technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, regional replication capacity, and policy support to accelerate innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship both in Western Macedonia and across Europe.
