“Interregional ecosystems for circular textile innovation based on biomaterials, zero waste design and digital traceability”
About
RIVCircular is a European collaborative initiative focused on developing distributed circular textile ecosystems based on biomaterials, regional bioeconomy, digital traceability and circular design methodologies.
The project proposes an alternative approach to highly centralised industrial textile models by enabling scalable regional deployment through low-infrastructure circular innovation ecosystems connected to SMEs, creative industries, territorial innovation actors and interoperable digital systems.
The initiative integrates:
• biomaterial development and local biomass valorisation
• circular and Zero Waste design methodologies
• Digital Product Passport (DPP)
• interoperable blockchain traceability
• ESG and sustainability assessment
• distributed validation pilots
• regional deployment and market adoption
• capacity building and circular textile competencies
The project is being structured under the leadership of Universidad Europea de Madrid with participation from regional innovation ecosystems in Spain, Norway, France and Ukraine.
We are currently looking for additional partners with expertise in:
• biomaterial testing
• textile circularity
• DPP and traceability
• blockchain interoperability
• sustainability and LCA
• retail pilots and market validation
• regional innovation ecosystems
• circular public procurement
• bioeconomy and territorial deployment
RIVCircular aims to create replicable and interoperable circular textile ecosystems capable of accelerating the green and digital transition across European regions.
