My expertise is in the area of sustainable architecture. I have been working on "Efficient and Healthy Buildings: Integration of Indoor Environmental Quality and Energy Efficiency." Over the last 20 years, the construction sector has made progress in decarbonizing the operational phase of buildings. This implies that in the coming years, environmental impacts must be reduced in the remaining phases of a building's life cycle. Life cycle assessment from a circular perspective addresses this challenge. For this reason, my line of research has recently evolved towards the field of the circular economy.
