Fincas de Azabache is a state-of-the-art Cooperative founded in December 1956. This winery has been kitted out with the most advanced technology, it is a tribute to our history and to the first growers: their hard work and inspiration had led us to become who we are today. The bodegas owns top-quality vineyards at the foot of Mount Yerga at different altitudes from 300 up to 600 metres Rioja Oriental, a privileged area for grape growing as it benefits from the influence of two distinctly opposite climates, the Mediterranean and the AtlanticThe soils are alluvial and ferrous clay, that provide the wines with unique traits. We believe that vine growing is where the creation begins, hence we have a profound commitment to the principles of Sustainable practices. In return, we get the best of it, and we keep the equilibrium in our vineyards. As an example we produced the first bottle of Organic wine marketed by the Rioja Region in 1998. Our range of wines have different personalities although always within the framework of a perfectly recognizable identity.
