A Brief History of Bodegas Finca Cienvacas:

We are a family that has been devoted to vineyards and their cultivation since time immemorial, with a love and perseverance based on respect for time and quality processes and practices to achieve a wine that speaks for itself. Uncompromising, direct, bold, and completely natural.

Our winery was built in 2007 and is located in a privileged spot for growing grapes, which is the key to giving our wines their strength and exceptional quality, Finca Cienvacas. We are located in the heart of La Rioja Alta, on the banks of the Ebro River, with limestone soils, altitude, and a dry climate that is ideal for Tempranillo grapes.

The origin of the name of our wines comes from one of our great-grandparents' lands, which they dedicated to raising dairy cattle and called FINCA CIENVACAS.

We have a 20-hectare vineyard located in La Rioja Alta, and our winery has a capacity of 200,000 liters. We grow 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano.

In total, we have nine plots on sloping land, terraces, and valley bottoms with gravel and clay loam soils, where we have bush-trained vines. We produce two red wines: young and crianza. Both wines come from vines on our own land, worked and cultivated by the family, located in the municipality of Cenicero (Rioja Alta). All of our production is classified under the Rioja Designation of Origin as municipal wine.

It is a wine from our own harvest, from our own vineyards, made with love and respect for nature and its rhythms, with manual harvesting and selection, with a key essence passed down from generation to generation: perseverance and love for the countryside. 

We are a family with a tradition of winegrowing. Our great-grandparents were the first to plant vines and cultivate Tempranillo, then our grandparents continued the work as winegrowers, and we are also proud winegrowers who decided to take another step forward and become producers. 

This is how Finca Cienvacas was born. A small, well-equipped winery with small tanks to facilitate work by plot and style, with modern machinery and a practical design that facilitates careful and conscientious work.  

Perseverance and determination set the pace for us to make our two red wines, wines with character, wines that accompany every sip. 

Our young wine, also defined as a vintage or grower's wine, directly reflects the qualities of the environment and the goodness of the vintage...our wine rewards those who make it, dignifies those who sell it, and satisfies those who drink it. 

Our Crianza wine is made with malolactic fermentation in barrels and aged in oak barrels from French forests, all with a capacity of 225 liters (Bordeaux barrels). The long stay in barrels made of the best wood allows the wine to evolve towards stable states and with nuances that are highly appreciated by lovers of age-worthy wines.

What sets our wines apart is their origin, traceability, terroir, and our vineyards, which are the exclusive basis of our production. In addition to this, their (personal) production and finishing give them characteristics that set them apart from most Rioja wines.

Situados en el corazón de La Rioja Alta y a orillas del Ebro, se elaboran nuestros caldos, uvas tempranillo de las cepas más viejas de nuestros viñedos proclaman un vino franco noble, con aromas y fragancias de fruta y fermentación. Carnoso, saludable y grato.

Un lugar privilegiado para el cultivo de la vid, es la esencia clave para dotar de fuerza y excepcional calidad a nuestros vinos, FINCA CEINVACAS.

Nuestra Bodega cuenta con una explotación vitícola de 20 hectáreas de tierra, situadas en la RIOJA ALTA - DOCa en el municipio de CENICERO. Fue construida en el año 2007 y tiene capacidad para 200.000 litros.

Nuestra razón social es Cenicero Vitícola S.L. Embotellamos con  la marca «FINCA CIENVACAS», haciendo referencia a la heredad mas antigua que mantiene la familia, una viña de tempranillo de 60 años que anteriormente fue ganadería.

La diferenciación de nuestros vinos es su origen, su trazabilidad, su terruño y nuestras viñas que son la base exclusiva de la producción que nos respalda.  Además de esto, su elaboración y acabado personal le confieren particularidades que lo separan de la generalidad de los vinos de Rioja.
