Bodegas Franco-Españolas & Bodegas Valparaíso
Founded in 1890 in Logroño, Bodegas Franco-Españolas is one of Rioja’s most prestigious and historic wineries. For more than 135 years, our family-owned winery has combined the legacy of classic Rioja with modern innovation, crafting wines that are recognized and enjoyed worldwide.
Our wines have a unique international history: they were served on the Orient Express, at the coronation of King Juan Carlos I of Spain, and at the royal wedding of King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola of Belgium. They have appeared on the wine lists of legendary hotels such as the Plaza Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria in New York, and even caught the attention of Ernest Hemingway, who wrote about them.
As true pioneers in Rioja, we created Diamante in 1891—the region’s first semi-sweet white wine—and we continue to innovate with bold, contemporary expressions such as Más Diamante, a vibrant Red Blend that reflects today’s tastes while honoring our tradition.
Expanding beyond Rioja, we own Bodegas Valparaíso, our boutique winery in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Surrounded by 72 hectares of old vineyards, Valparaíso produces elegant and expressive wines that showcase the depth, structure, and authenticity of this world-renowned appellation.
With over a century of heritage and a strong international presence, our mission is to craft wines that combine authenticity, prestige, and timeless quality—while building lasting partnerships with wine lovers and professionals across the globe.
