Bodegas Tarón - DOCa Rioja Alta

Bodegas Taron is the northernmost winery in DOCa Rioja and comprises four generations of vine growers from 4 small villages in La Rioja: Tirgo, Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón, Villaseca and Sajazarra. We are located in one of the most famous terroirs in Rioja Alta, a Northwest district with an atlantic climate but protected from the cold northern winds by the Obarenes Mountains. In our soils we can find the secret which makes our wines perfect for barrel ageing. These lands, with vineyards located above 600 metres high, are very difficult to cultivate because you must show a great care on the vine to reach the ideal point of ripening. We use local varietals, like Viura, Garnacha or Tempranillo, that find a perfect environment in these clay-chalky soils. These two elements give our grapes an authentic characters (Freshness and acidity) that is shown in our strong-personality wines. All our wines have been awarded with the top quality price-ratio marks in the most prestigious publications as Decanter, James Suckling, Tim Atklin, Peñin Guide, IWSC, Mundus Vini...
