Research Conference on TCIH Strategies for Infections and AMR Reduction

9 November 2023 - 10 November 2023

Resistance to antibiotics is a complex and growing international public health problem with important consequences such as increased mortality and economic impact. In the WHO “Global research agenda for antimicrobial resistance in human health” presented in 2023 it is stated that antimicrobial resistance has been recognized as one of the greatest global threats to the health of humans, animals and ecosystems.

Traditional, Complementary and Integrative healthcare (TCIH) provides strategies and solutions that contribute to reducing (inappropriate) antibiotic use in both human and veterinary medicine. By doing that, TCIH may contribute to the reduction of AMR.

The GIFTS-AMR Online Conference will present the current status and future (research) perspectives of the TCIH strategies and solutions for prevention and treatment of infections, that may contribute to reduce AMR.

During the conference researchers, policy makers, investors and other stakeholders who are interested in TCIH prevention and treatment of infections and AMR will be brought together, to connect and share their expertise, scientific knowledge and perspectives on TCIH strategies.
