Main Business Segments

• Construction:
  Through its wholly owned subsidiary TERNA S.A., the Group maintains a strong presence in large-scale infrastructure development, with a construction backlog ranging between €5 billion and €6.9 billion. The company is active in both public and private sector projects, delivering complex civil works across multiple geographies.

• Concessions:
  GEK TERNA is a major operator of long-term infrastructure concessions, including toll roads (e.g., Attiki Odos, Egnatia Odos) and ports (e.g., Kavala Port). Notable recent projects include the 25-year Attiki Odos concession awarded in 2024, the Kavala Port sub-concession initiated in January 2025, and the ongoing development of Kasteli Airport in Crete.

• Energy:
  With over 30 years of experience in the energy sector, the Group has developed, constructed, and operated a wide array of large-scale energy infrastructure—including thermal power plants, pumped-storage hydro plants, and renewable energy systems (RES).
  GEK TERNA currently operates in conventional energy through HERON ENERGY, which is active in gas-fired electricity generation and natural gas and electricity retail supply.
  Until 2024, the Group fully owned TERNA ENERGY, Greece’s largest renewable energy producer. In 2024, GEK TERNA sold its stake in TERNA ENERGY to the MASDAR Group, while retaining substantial expertise in renewable energy development. The Group continues to contribute to the renewable energy sector through:

  • Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for renewable energy projects,

  • Strategic consultancy and project development partnerships, and

  • Leveraging its construction capabilities to deliver large-scale energy infrastructure.

• Waste & Water Management:

GEK TERNA is actively engaged in integrated waste management through its infrastructure in the Peloponnese region, and continues to invest in water management projects across Greece, focusing on advanced, large-scale water infrastructure systems.
