Habitat for Humanity in Ukraine is a global housing organisation working to ensure that every family has access to safe, affordable, and energy-efficient housing. Since the onset of the war, Habitat has been at the forefront of Ukraine’s housing recovery, combining technical reconstruction expertise with policy engagement to build durable, scalable solutions. We work closely with the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, local authorities, and housing associations to advance reforms on social and affordable housing, energy efficiency, and vacant building reuse. We are leading the national assessment of unused/vacant buildings in different oblasts under Housing Reform framework. Our programmes also focus on multi-apartment retrofitting, thermal insulation, and the creation of affordable rental models for displaced and vulnerable households. Habitat is also building programmes in circular and green reconstruction, piloting the use of biogenic insulation materials and supporting the alignment of Ukrainian building standards with EU energy and safety regulations. At ReBuild Ukraine, we are seeking partnerships with technical firms, investors, and development partners interested in scalable, low-carbon and housing solutions that bridge humanitarian response and long-term recovery.
