ANIMA Confindustria, the Federation of Italian Associations of Mechanical and Engineering Industries, represents companies in the mechanical sector within Confindustria. This sector employs 222,000 people, generates a production value of €55.54 billion, and boasts an export share of 57.8% (2023 estimates). Established in 1914, ANIMA comprises 34 associations and 1,000 highly qualified companies across various sectors. The macrosectors and technologies represented include: Energy Generation, Chemical, Oil & Gas Technologies Machinery and plants Building Technologies Systems and construction Logistics Technologies Equipment and machinery for lifting, elevation, and handling Food Technologies Equipment, technology, and products for the food industry Safety, Security & Environment Environmental protection, personal safety, and firefighting Industry Plants, components, and products for industrial applications ANIMA advocates for the interests of the mechanical industry, representing and promoting member companies and their products both in Italy and internationally. It provides support to its members on technical and economic issues. Companies that are part of ANIMA are deeply committed to advancing the energy transition in their business and production processes. The federation also has a dedicated working group focused on the research and application of hydrogen and nuclear energy for production purposes.
