InfraHex - multispectral camouflage systems

InfraHex is an advanced smart textile system designed to conceal the thermal and visual signatures of living and non-living objects. Developed using nanofiber-based and metallized textile technologies, InfraHex provides multispectral masking across the visible (VIS), near-infrared (NIR), short-wave infrared (SWIR), and long-wave infrared (LWIR) ranges. This enables effective protection against modern reconnaissance methods such as thermal cameras, drones, and multispectral sensors.

Unlike traditional camouflage, which only matches background color or pattern, InfraHex actively manages heat emission and reflection, creating a uniform thermal appearance that blends naturally with the surroundings. The system maintains high breathability, moisture management, and user comfort, making it suitable for garments, tarpaulins, vehicle covers, and shelter systems.

For Ukraine’s reconstruction context, InfraHex offers a dual-use solution enhancing safety and operational resilience of infrastructure, equipment, and field personnel. It can protect repair teams, demining units, and humanitarian operators from aerial detection while masking critical infrastructure such as generators, power transformers, or mobile hospitals. The lightweight, durable, and weather-resistant textile can be rapidly deployed and reused in demanding field conditions.

By merging nanotechnology, advanced coatings, and functional textile engineering, InfraHex represents a new category of adaptive multispectral protection materials that increase survivability and security during reconstruction in conflict-affected regions.
