Domat software stack

The Domat software suite accelerates building automation and energy system integration by providing unified engineering, HMI, and supervisory tools that eliminate the complexity and security risks of multi-vendor software stacks — enabling integrators to design, commission, and maintain HVAC, BMS, and energy projects faster while ensuring cybersecurity compliance and seamless operation across desktop, mobile, and web interfaces. Instead of juggling separate development environments, HMI tools, and data platforms that create version conflicts and knowledge silos, this integrated stack delivers consistent workflows from PLC logic through visualization to remote monitoring, reducing project risk and accelerating handover across commercial, industrial, and utility installations throughout the EU.

How unified development streamlines commissioning:

Domat IDE (formerly Merbon IDE) combines IEC 61131-3 PLC programming, web/HMI design, and system configuration in one environment, supporting the latest mark and wall series controllers while maintaining compatibility with existing installations. The current generation adds critical features for modern BMS and energy projects — IEC 60870-5-104 protocol for utility dispatch integration, Syslog for security compliance, Modbus Configurator for simplified multi-vendor integration, and certificate management for encrypted communication. Engineers develop PLC logic (ST, FBD, LD, SFC), create responsive HMI panels, configure communication protocols, and manage security certificates without switching between tools or risking configuration mismatches. Programming can be done either in the low-code FUPLA language, using functional blocks connected through signal flows, or in Structured Text, preferred by experienced programmers. This reduces entry barriers and flattens the learning curve while maintaining flexibility.

Domat Visual extends HMI definitions from IDE to Windows industrial PCs, Android/iOS mobile devices, and HMI terminals such as HT300, providing operators and service technicians with consistent interfaces across all platforms. Unlike traditional HMI systems requiring separate mobile development, Visual automatically adapts panels for different screen sizes while maintaining full functionality — alarms, trends, value modification, and secure remote access through Domat Proxy. This approach eliminates dual interface maintenance and ensures technicians can perform critical operations from any device.

Domat Runtime provides the PLC firmware foundation running on mark/wall controllers, supporting encrypted communication, local data historian functionality, embedded web HMI, and integration protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 60870-5-104, and .NET drivers for specialized equipment. The runtime architecture enables secure remote maintenance, dynamic configuration changes, and distributed intelligence that reduces network load while ensuring reliable local operation.

Legacy support includes Merbon SCADA (server-client architecture for multi-site supervision, alarms, and trending), which remains fully serviceable for existing installations while end-of-life planning supports migration to the modern Domat stack. In the meantime, we provide active support in cooperation with our strategic partners to provide seamless integration with other SCADA systems, such as ICONICS, Reliance, and Promotic.

Additional ecosystem components (Domat Web, Domat Proxy, OPC, Domat Symbols) provide standardized connectivity and symbol libraries for complex integrations.
