About

The Domat IRC family delivers comprehensive room-level integration that accelerates BMS commissioning and eliminates the complexity of mixed-vendor room automation — providing open Modbus RTU communication, consistent HMI design, and flexible sensor combinations that enable demand-controlled comfort, IAQ management, and occupancy-aware strategies across offices, schools, hospitality, and mixed-use buildings throughout the EU. Instead of proprietary room systems that create integration bottlenecks and service headaches, these standardized 60×60mm units offer scalable sensing (temperature, humidity, CO₂, PIR), local I/O, and unified register mapping that streamlines both new construction and retrofit projects.

How IRC streamlines room-level integration: Every unit communicates over galvanically separated RS485 with documented Modbus RTU register maps, enabling rapid commissioning with Domat PLCs, third-party BMS platforms, and SCADA systems without vendor-specific gateways. The modular approach spans sensor-only installations (/DK variants), HMI-equipped units (display+rotary or 5-button interfaces), and controller variants with local I/O (triac outputs, analog outputs, SSR) for direct actuator control. This flexibility allows integrators to right-size each space — basic temperature sensing in corridors, full IAQ monitoring in conference rooms, occupancy detection in cellular offices, or complete terminal unit control with local overrides.

The platform architecture centers on consistent mechanical design (60×60mm cutout, 24V AC power) while varying sensor and I/O configurations across families. UI0xx provides universal room sensing with optional DI/DO and RTC; UI3xx adds Pt1000 input plus PIR/CO₂ variants; UI90x focuses on IAQ with unified CO₂/temperature/humidity sensing; UX0xx offers button-based HMI with local triac outputs for simple heating control; and UC/US controllers provide purpose-built terminal unit control with matched I/O for radiators, fan-coils, and 2-pipe/4-pipe systems.

Advanced configurations include paired FCR+UC/UX sets for fan-coil and VAV applications, where the FCR controller acts as Modbus master to dedicated room units while serving as Modbus slave to the BMS—simplifying register mapping and reducing commissioning errors. UB100/UB200 controllers offer native BACnet MS/TP for direct integration with BACnet supervisory systems, eliminating protocol conversion overhead.

Technical specifications include temperature sensing (onboard or Pt1000), humidity measurement, NDIR CO₂ sensors (with auto-calibration), PIR occupancy detection, configurable DI/DO (relay, triac, or SSR outputs), analog outputs (0-10V), RTC for local scheduling, and power ratings suitable for standard 24V AC building automation supplies. All units support galvanic separation on communication interfaces and include comprehensive EN/CZ documentation with register maps and wiring diagrams.

Constraints: Complex control algorithms run in PLC/BMS, not locally in room units; match electrical types (triac vs. relay) to field devices; follow CO₂ sensor warm-up procedures; confirm PIR coverage patterns; wire FCR master/slave buses separately from BMS networks; verify SSR/triac load categories for actuator compatibility.

Book a 20-min session to map your room types, select optimal IRC variants, and streamline register integration with your BMS architecture.
