Bogomolets National Medical University

Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU) is a leading public medical institution in Kyiv, Ukraine, with history beginning in 1841, when the medical faculty was founded at the Imperial University of St. Volodymyr. Over nearly two centuries, the University has been shaped by outstanding scientists, educators, and clinical innovators, forming strong academic and professional traditions. Today, NMU is recognized for its highly qualified teaching and research staff and is one of the key centers of medical education in Ukraine. The University was one of the first in the country to implement the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and to provide graduates with the Diploma Supplement, supporting international mobility. The University cooperates with 44 international educational and medical institutions, including through the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program. NMU is a multiple recipient of national and international awards, including “Leader of Higher Education of Ukraine” and “Leader in Modern Education.” The University has adopted a Sustainable Development Strategy until 2030, which focuses on: strengthening public health and disease prevention; promoting equitable access to healthcare and education; reducing environmental and resource impacts; supporting social inclusion and academic integrity; and integrating sustainability competencies into medical training.
